Oftentimes, we are under the assumption that we have to be perfect, have it all together before accepting the call to Christ, or even lead in the Kingdom. Allow me to dismantle that myth! I am speaking from experience when I say that you do not have to be perfect to lead. The Good News Is...God teaches those who he calls to lead and how to lead in their imperfections. When we look at the leaders, the kings, and judges in the Bible that were used by God, none of them were perfect. They dealt with the same issues that we deal with today. Issues of reluctance, jealousy, hard-headedness, unforgiveness, and hurt, yet God chose them to lead His people. The reason why you have been called in your imperfection is because you have embodied the heart of the Father. Your understanding of imperfection is an indication you have learned to operate from a place of grace and love because that's what has been extended to you.
Let's take King David, for example. God called him to be a king from an early age, but he was still flawed, and it showed up during his reign as king. However, David understood how to get into the presence of the Father. He understood the act of repenting, and he knew how to completely surrender to God. Even in his imperfections as God's chosen leader, King David is known as the one who went after God's heart.
Today, God has called you for His Kingdom. Don't think your past or what you are currently dealing with has disqualified you. As long as you have breath in your body, God has called you and wants to use you. As we give our imperfections to God for Him to make perfect, He will show you how they will be used for His glory. You can only lead to the extent of how you allow God to lead you.
Have a beautiful day!
