Happy New Year! I can't believe 2024 is here and in motion! Father, thank you for allowing me to see another year.
Today, I want to share one of my favorite scriptures with you. It is found in Matthew 6:33 - "Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This scriptures comes after Jesus tells us don't worry about life, about what you eat or drink, or about what your body will wear. He then refers to the birds. They do not store food or sow and reap yet, the Father provides food for them daily. Jesus then goes on to say, "are you not much more valuable than they."
I know I've previously talked about how God will provide, but here's more good news concerning God's provision. The Good News is...we pray room for provision. Let me explain. When we pray the Lord's Prayer we say, "give us today our daily bread", we are making room for God to provide, This passage is a reminder that God is committed to providing our daily needs as we seek his kingdom first. We can be confident that God will provide our daily bread just as he did, literally, by providing manna to the Israelites daily, as they were going through the wilderness. Give us today our daily bread, means we can remain confident that God will give us what we need, while we seek His kingdom. When we are occupied with the things of God, He will surely take care of our natural needs. We don't need worry or be anxious about anything!
I encourage you to build your faith on what God says. Pray today, Give us this day, our daily bread. Make room for God to provide by prioritizing your relationship with Him. Seek him first and his righteousness (your character, your conduct based on God's standard) and EVERYTHING else (food, clothes, job, resources, etc..) will be yours.
Have a beautiful day!
